A rectangle face shape shares every proportion with an oblong face: clearly longer than wide, with forehead, cheekbones and jaw measuring close to the same width, so the sides run near-parallel.
The difference is entirely in the finish. Where an oblong jaw curves continuously from chin to ear, a rectangle jaw runs forward, turns a visible corner, and runs across to the chin. Seen in silhouette, one is a curve and the other is a hinge.
